Terms of use

1. What this site is

Asia Christian Authors is a free community for Christian authors across Asia. The site lists books shared by members, hosts free downloads that authors choose to upload, and links to the author's own page where a book is for sale. We do not sell books, take payments or deliver paid books. Any purchase is between you and the author or the platform they use, such as Payhip, Gumroad or Amazon Kindle.

2. Your account

• Give us true details, keep your password safe, and tell us if someone else uses your account.
• One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under it.
• You must be at least 13 years old, and have a parent or guardian's permission if you are under 18.

3. Community guidelines

We are a Christian community and we ask everyone to treat each other with kindness and honesty. Please do not:

• post anything hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, threatening, or illegal;
• share spam, scams, viruses, or links that mislead people;
• pretend to be someone else, or write a rating or comment about your own book from another account;
• try to cheat the contribution levels, for example by making fake accounts or fake ratings;
• copy, scrape or misuse other people's personal data or content from the site.

4. Author terms: sharing a book

When you share a book, you agree that:

• you own the rights to the book and its cover, or you have permission from the rights holder to share it here;
• you keep ownership of your work. You give Asia Christian Authors a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to show your listing, cover, description and author page on the site and in search and sharing, and, if you upload a free file, to host it and let anyone download it, for as long as the book is listed;
• if you upload a free file, anyone may download it. If you want to limit how readers may use it, say so inside the book itself;
• the details you give, including links, are accurate, and whether a book is free or paid is stated honestly;
• you are responsible for your own sales page, payments, refunds and customer service. We do not handle any of these;
• your files contain no viruses or harmful code, and your book does not break the law or other people's rights;
• each author can have up to 10 books on the platform at once. If you reach the limit, delete a book you no longer need to share a new one;
• you can edit or delete your book at any time. When you delete it, we remove it from the site and delete its uploaded files. Copies that others have already downloaded, or that search engines have stored, may remain for a while.

5. How books are reviewed

New books go through automatic checks, and are usually published straight away if they pass. An AI assistant gives a first read when we need a closer look, but it only recommends. Members can report a book, and if several different members report it we pause it while an admin looks. Our checks are not a guarantee or an endorsement. The views in a book are the author's, not ours. We may remove or refuse any book, rating or comment, and suspend any account, if we think it breaks these terms or harms the community.

6. Ratings and comments

Only signed-in members can rate a book. Please be honest and respectful. You give us a free licence to show what you write on the book page. Authors can turn comments off for their book. We may hide a comment that breaks our guidelines.

7. Copyright and takedown requests

If you believe a book or file on this site infringes your copyright, email hello@asiachristianauthors.com with: the link to the page, a description of your work and how you can show you are the owner or their agent, your name and contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised. We will act quickly, which may include removing the item and telling the author. The author can reply to us if they believe the removal was a mistake. We may remove repeated infringers from the community.

8. Events

Our launch and other events are run in good faith, and you take part at your own risk. We may take photos or recordings at events to share the community's story. Tell us if you would rather not appear.

9. Our property

The site's design, code, name and logo belong to Asia Christian Authors. You may share links to the site and to books, and you may not copy the site or pass it off as your own.

10. No guarantees

We work hard to keep the site running, but it is provided as it is, free of charge. We do not promise it will always be available or free from errors. Nothing here is professional, medical, legal or financial advice. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by using the site, by a book or link shared here, or by dealings between members and authors.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the site and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore are the place to settle any dispute, unless the law where you live says otherwise.

13. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and tell members about important changes. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new terms. Questions? Email hello@asiachristianauthors.com.
