Our statement of faith

We Believe

We are Christian authors from many churches and backgrounds across Asia. These are the beliefs at the centre of our faith and of this community. We keep the main things the main things, and we give each other room, with humility and love, on the rest.

  1. One God

We believe in one God, holy and eternal, who exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Three persons, each distinct, never divided.

  2. Creation and humanity

God made the world, and he made every person in his image so that we could know him. Sin has broken that relationship, and nobody can earn their way back to God by their own effort.

  3. Jesus Christ

Jesus is fully God and fully human. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and he lived without sin. Through him alone we are reconciled to God, and salvation is a gift of grace.

  4. The cross and the resurrection

Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven and he will return. His victory over death is the foundation of our hope and shapes how we live.

  5. The Bible

Scripture is inspired by God, trustworthy, and meant to be lived out every day. We read it through Jesus, the living Word, and in the light of the new covenant.

  6. Eternity is real

There is a spiritual realm of angels, demons and a devil who will face God's judgement. Those who belong to Christ receive eternal life with God, and those who reject him face eternal separation from God.

  7. Water baptism

Baptism is by full immersion. It is an act of obedience and a public declaration of faith, for anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

  8. The Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, an experience beyond conversion that is available to every believer, with speaking in tongues as a significant sign of it. The Spirit empowers us for every gift he gives: miracles, healing, deliverance and generosity.

  9. Life and marriage

Human life is a sacred gift from conception, and each person has a purpose given by God. Marriage is between one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy belongs within marriage.

  10. Grace and restoration

All of us struggle, because of our own sin and because the world is broken. God offers forgiveness, healing and restoration through grace and truth, and we want to treat one another the same way.

Why this matters to us

We write because we have been given hope. Our mission is to use our words to transform culture with the hope of Jesus, and these beliefs are where that hope comes from.

A community of Christian authors across Asia who write together, support and encourage one another, and use our words to transform culture with the hope of Jesus.
