About this book

You wake up, go to work, pay the bills, take care of your responsibilities, and do it all again tomorrow. Years pass. You grow older. Life goes on. But have you ever stopped to ask: Is this really all there is to life? Why are we here? Does life have a greater purpose? Is there a God? And if there is, what does He have to do with your everyday life? Is This All There Is to Life? is written for ordinary people who have never seriously explored Christianity but are beginning to wonder about life's deeper questions. In clear, everyday language, this book explores: Why success, money, and comfort cannot answer every question about life. Whether there is good reason to believe in God. Why suffering and evil exist if God is good. Who Jesus really was and what made Him different. Why Jesus died on the cross and why His resurrection matters. What Christians mean by sin, forgiveness, grace, and salvation. What it means to believe in Jesus and begin following Him. You don't need to know the Bible, attend church, or have a religious background to read this book. There is no pressure to make a decision before you are ready. You are invited to examine the Christian message, consider your questions, and discover why Jesus still matters today. Because life may be about more than earning a living, growing old, and eventually leaving everything behind. And the answer may begin with a person named Jesus.

About the author

Sam Choo

I help aspiring authors turn their stories, ideas, and messages into published books.

I am an author, ghostwriter, and publisher from Singapore. I write nonfiction books covering personal development, relationships, memoirs, and Christian faith.

I have always loved reading and writing. Libraries are among my favorite places to spend time. I was particularly inspired by *The Diary of a Young Girl* by Anne Frank. Although she died so young, her words continue to touch millions of lives decades later. That taught me something about the lasting power of the written word.

Perhaps that is one reason I write. I want to leave behind something meaningful through my books. In a way, I suppose I want to live forever, at least through the words I leave behind.

My passion for Christian writing is also deeply personal. I came to know Jesus Christ through a simple Gospel tract. Someone had taken the trouble to write, print, and distribute that little piece of literature, and it changed my life.

That experience convinced me of the power of literature evangelism. I believe writing and publishing Christian books is one way I can contribute to the Great Commission. A book can travel to places its author may never visit and speak to people its author may never meet.

Why Is This Happening to Me, God?

Making Sense of Suffering and Stress, Finding Joy and Discovering Purpose in Life

by Sam Choo · Singapore

Faith and devotion

Why is this happening to me, God? You had an idea of how your life would turn out. Then reality gave you something different. A broken relationship. Financial stress. Illness. Loss. Disappointment. Failure. An uncertain future. You try harder. You take control. You tell yourself to stay strong. But eventually you discover an uncomfortable truth: some things in life cannot be controlled, fixed or explained. Why Is This Happening to Me, God? is about what happens next. This book explores how to face the gap between the life you expected and the life you actually have, take responsibility for what you can change, let go of what you cannot control, and learn to trust God when your own strength reaches its limits. It does not tell you that everything happens for a reason or that painful experiences are secretly good. Instead, it offers a Christian hope: what happened may not be good, but God can still work through it for good. Through practical reflection and biblical examples, you will discover how suffering can deepen compassion, how joy can exist even when life remains difficult, how your pain can become part of your purpose, and how God uses ordinary, imperfect people. You may never receive a complete answer to the question, “Why me?” But perhaps, with time, a different question can emerge: “God, what can You do with this?” And eventually: “God, what can You do through me?”
